PROCEDURE OF INSTALLING WINDOWS 98

There are two ways to install Windows 98
-->Copy all of the files from the win98 directory on the Windows 98 CD to a directory on your hard disk
-->Directly install from the CD

Now i will explain these two methods.You can use both method

1.Copy all of the files from the win98 directory on the Windows 98 CD to a directory on your hard disk

• copy your win98 files from cd to your harddisk
• then click on start then shutdown then select restart in MS DOS
• then go to your driver where installation directory is present
• if you copy files in D: then write D: then press enter
• example C:\windows>D:(enter)
• then you will see D:\ directory
• then write D:\ cd win98( press enter) where win98 is name of directory where you copy files
• its going well then write
  D:\win98>setup.exe(press enter)
  congratulations now windows98 ready to install

NOTE:YOU CAN FORMAT DRIVE IN WHICH YOU WANT TO INSTALL WINDOWS
EXAMPLE D:\WIN98>FORMAT C:(PRESS ENTER)

2.Directly install from the CD

you can directly install from cd.follow step by step procedure

• if you have no operating system then make sure your cd room drive is first botable device
  if not then go to setup of your system
• then select cd room as first bootable device
• save settings
• restart your system
• your computer automatically detect cd and then select start windown 98 setup from cd room
